NESCAFÉ RICOFFY TVC - A Story of Pride

It is a very special moment to be able to share your graduation with your parents, as it is an extremely proud moment for them. Now imagine the pride when it is your parents who graduate, a time where they can finally chase the dream they have always hoped for.

“We celebrate loudly and proudly because sacrifices were made to reach that stage. And as uncertain as it is that your child will get a good job after they graduate it still gives us hope. For that particular family it means “indlala inyile” which directly translates as “poverty will shift” we normally say that when there is a glimpse of hope at alliviating poverty. When 1 graduates we are usually confident that the family is gonna be alright.” - Mpumi J Matiwane

NESCAFÉ RICOFFY delivers the smooth, fresh taste that’s connected South Africans for generations, and we are proud to be part of the brand’s journey, establishing NESCAFÉ RICOFFY as the coffee that brings people together.

Building on the existing narrative, we are shifting the brand to a positioning centred on the hope and pride that South Africans feel when they share their everyday victories. We recently launched the positioning, ‘Sharing moments that stir pride’ with authentic poems that told stories of everyday people’s small, yet significant triumphs.

A TVC was produced that tells the inspiring story of a mother and daughter who achieve success and work hard so that the mother can graduate from university. It’s a story that demonstrates hope and resilience, serving as a beacon of light to a nation where many adults previously did not have access to higher education. The story is heartwarming and resonates with all South Africans.
